Unix-ProS is a division of I.T. ProS dedicated to everything foundational in Tech and most likely relying on Unix / Linux OS. This division was initially conceived of in the '90s by a group of Unix Gurus consulting at IT ProS.

UNIX
Described by one of its developers as "a weak pun on Multics" (which was an experimental, time-sharing operating system at Bell Labs in the 1960s), Unix took off in the early 1970s as a general-purpose operating system. Estimates place some 50 - 70% of the Internet as being hosted on Unix/Linux machines. Unix's popularity grew in the early 1990s as large scale SMP servers began to replace the mainframe. Today, a variety of modern servers, workstations, mobile devices and embedded systems are driven by Unix-based OSes, including macOS computers and Android mobile devices.
